MAIN RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

Aerial photogrammetry: creation of true-orthophotos with LiDAR data, LiDAR data processing

Close-range photogrammetry: automatic orientation by combining photogrammetric and Computer Vision techniques, image matching, surface measurement, targetless camera calibration, automated scan registration, RGB-NIR-IR texture mapping

Vision metrology: development and implementation of image-based algorithms for measurement of deformations in material testing

Engineering surveying: deformation monitoring with standard and innovative geodetic measuring devices (total station, level, GPS, laser tracker, images, laser scanner, radar, etc.)

 

TEACHING ACTIVITIES:

Since the academic year 2011/12 he is contract-professor of the courses "Elements of Photogrammetry" and "Photogrammetry and Laser Scanning for Site Assessment".

Since the academic year 2010/11 he is contract-professor of the course "Contribution of Surveying and Photogrammetry to Site Assessment".

Since the academic year 2006/2007 he held practical lessons, laboratories and tutoring for the following courses at Politecnico di Milano: "Numerical Cartography", "Introduction to GIS", "Photogrammetry", "Architectural Survey", "Urban and Environmental Relief", "Modern Surveying Techniques", "Topographic Surveying and Global Positioning System" and "Surveying and Monitoring Systems".
